Train Safety Called Into Question

After the Amtrak derailment near Philadelphia in May of 2015 that killed 8 people and injured more than 200 others, the National Transportation Safety Board is calling into question the lack of staffing levels and safety equipment for our nation’s trains. Included in their recommendations is a mandate for all trains to have fail-safe equipment to stop speeding trains through GPS-based technology known as Positive Train Control.
