The Perecman Firm, P.L.L.C., is pleased to announce that our firm was a proud participant in this year’s Autism Speaks Virtual Walk!
Autism Speaks Walk is the world’s largest fundraising event dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with autism and accelerating the spectrum of solutions for tomorrow. Funds raised through the event help fuel innovative research and critical lifelong supports and services.
While in-person events made a return to many locations in 2021, supporters were still able to participate in the Autism Speaks Walk remotely. This is exactly what our team chose to do, with each participant walking the 1.54 miles on their own or in a group setting while social distancing.
We’re proud of our staff for helping raise funds for a great cause and have additionally pledged to match all donations raised by our team! Here’s a photo of Attorney Mariusz Sniarowski walking with his wife Aneta, dog Wes, and Wes’ buddy Jack!
As a firm with a strong connection to the autism community, The Perecman Firm, P.L.L.C., is proud to support Autism Speaks and the work they do to promote acceptance and our understanding of autism. As in years past, we dedicated our walk to Avonte Oquendo, a 14-year-old boy with autism who walked out of his Queens public school in 2013 and was tragically discovered months later in the East River.
Attorney David H. Perecman and our firm represented Avonte’s family in a wrongful death lawsuit and assisted in advocating for city-wide legislation, now known as Avonte’s Law, that makes schools safer for special needs students. Our firm also continues to award our annual Avonte Oquendo Memorial Scholarship, which grants $5,000 to students living with autism or a loved one on the autism spectrum.
