There are, unfortunately, dangers all around, no matter how we try to keep safe. Many of these dangers come from the recklessness or carelessness of others, from someone failing to properly mark a wet patch on a smooth floor, to improperly contained hazardous materials, to drunken drivers. Often what they did is not technically a crime, but that does not mean they shouldn’t have to face justice and do the responsible thing to help in the recovery process.
An 18-year-old woman was walking down South Goodman Street in Rochester when she was hit by a drunk driver around 1:30 a.m., according to police.
The woman was seriously injured by the driver and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was treated, police said, where she was listed in guarded condition.
Police reports say the driver of the car, a 31-year-old resident of Rochester, was charged with DWI.
