Remains Found on East River Shore Confirmed as Avonte Oquendo

The search for 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo has, unfortunately, come to a tragic conclusion. Remains found in mid-January of 2014 on the shore of the East River seemed to match the description of Avonte when he was last seen, and this past Tuesday, it was confirmed to be the young man's body and clothing. According to the CNN report, the massive search and police investigation has been concluded, though the story of Avonte's mother, Vanessa Fontaine, is far from concluded. Represented by The Perecman Firm, Ms. Fontaine still seeks to hold Avonte's school responsible for their part in his tragic death.
