Speeding car causes early morning crash
A car sped through a stop sign and hit another car in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn. Three people were killed in the accident.
According to the police, an Acura containing four people sped through a traffic signal at around 2 a.m. on Jan. 5. The car smashed into a Toyota with two occupants.
The Acura then slid into two parked cars while the Toyota hit a city bus and a parked car.
Both occupants of the Toyota were killed as was the man driving the Acura. A second man in the Acura was left in critical condition after being thrown from the vehicle. Two women who were in the Acura were hospitalized with leg injuries.
Injury and wrongful death claims for auto accidents
Driving is a serious responsibility. Most vehicle operators recognize this and operate their vehicles safely. But, sometimes, even safe drivers find themselves in danger on the road. It only takes one careless driver to cause a life-changing accident. When an irresponsible driver gets behind the wheel with deliberate disregard for the safety of others, he or she is guilty of reckless driving.
That driver is then responsible for the consequences of his or her negligent actions.
Reckless drivers may be held liable for the pain and suffering associated with injuries or wrongful death in an accident caused by their negligence. They may also find themselves responsible for damages, including compensation for medical bills, lost wages, vehicle repairs, disability, and physical pain and suffering. Family members who suddenly lose a loved one as a result of a driver’s negligence may lose their job and their transportation, feel a loss of companionship, and be depressed. If the one who died was a wage earner, a house may be lost.
The reckless driver must be held accountable. Victims deserve full and fair compensation for any catastrophic injury or death.

Every vehicle accident case is different. The outcome of any case and the compensation can vary widely. An array of factors may influence the results, including the severity of the accident, injuries suffered, and the expertise of a lawyer.
Prompt and thorough investigation of auto accidents is important. Witness accounts must be recorded and physical evidence preserved. A caring lawyer should visit the crash site, as well as hire investigators and accident reconstruction experts in cases of severe injury or death.
