A 25-year old New York construction worker died when a house collapsed in Brooklyn, reported the New York Daily News (4/3/2012).

According to the New York Daily News, four other construction workers were also hurt in the New York construction accident, but their injuries were minor.
The worker who died was trapped under a pile of lumber after the top floor of the two- bungalow crashed down, said the tabloid “One of the most dangerous safety hazards at any New York construction site is falling debris,” said New York construction accident lawyer David Perecman, the former head New York construction accident lawyer for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a lecturer on construction accident law.
“New York laws are very protective of construction workers who are injured by falling debris. In many cases, defendants face ‘strict liability’ when construction workers are injured in a New York construction accident due to falling items.”
