An auto accident in Long Island left a 7-year-old girl seriously injured on Sunday, January 30, 2011. According to the Long Island Press, a 20-year-old man was driving his Nissan Pathfinder southbound on County Road 101 in East Patchogue when he attempted to make a left turn onto Dunton Avenue and his vehicle collided with a northbound Toyota at 8:30 a.m.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center with facial injuries. Her daughter was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way and for speeding.
