New State Law in New York Targets Careless Drivers Who Injure or Kill Pedestrians

A new law set to go in effect in New York is targeting careless drivers who injure or kill pedestrians. Pedestrian accidents in New York sometimes occur when a driver is not cautious and is driving carelessly. The drivers who hurt or kill pedestrians may no longer get away with it. A new state law is going into effect called Hayley and Diego’s Law. According to the New York Daily News, the new law carries penalties of up to a year in jail for drivers who hurt or kill pedestrians and cyclists.
