An accident in a hospital in New York occurred on December 25, 2010. A woman was visiting SUNY Downstate Hospital in Brooklyn and got on the elevator on the first floor. According to Fox News New York, her leg got caught in the door and it was dragged outside the elevator as it traveled up eight floors.
According to witnesses, the woman's leg was crushed and bleeding profusely as she was drifting in and out of consciousness. It took the FDNY almost an hour to free her. The floor of the elevator had to be cut to remove her after they were unable to push the car off of the woman's legs. She was taken to Kings County Hospital and listed in critical condition. New York personal injury lawyers are waiting for more information to be made available.
