Personal Injury Attorney Comments on Winter Safety After New York Woman Dies in Snowmobile Crash

New York accident attorneys remind snowmobile drivers and passengers to be careful this winter season.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - January 4, 2010 - A 30-year old woman was killed while riding a snowmobile while on vacation in Vermont. The woman, Kristen T. Bednar was from New York. Personal injury attorneys, saddened by this tragedy, want to remind people that recreational vehicles can be deadly.

Bednar died after losing control of her snowmobile and crashing into a tree. She suffered severe head injuries. Officials say Bednar was not wearing proper headgear at the time of the crash. A passenger on the back of her vehicle escaped uninjured.

State police and New York accident attorneys are investigating the snowmobile crash.

"While it can be a fun and exciting activity, snowmobiling can also be extremely dangerous and accidents can result in death or serious injury of a snowmobile enthusiast. According to estimates from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as many as 13,400 people end up hospital emergency rooms for snowmobile-related personal injuries each year. An estimated 110 people die while riding snowmobiles.
